75th Anniversary Adoptathon and Open House

What better way to celebrate 75 years of Friendship  than to help find forever homes for no fewer than 75 cats and dogs? That's why we asked the Washington Animal Rescue League (WARL) to co-host the Anniversary Adopt-a-thon.

Here are the details:

A two day celebration of festive events for pets and owners alike! Stop by the hospital and enjoy the fun. *Tour our newly renovated facilities *Enjoy complimentary snacks, games and fun *Adopt a dog at 75% of the regular adoption fee. Adopt a cat for free *Help WARL meet their goal of doubling the number of adoptions from last year, so they have a better chance of winning $100,000 in this year's ASPCA Challenge

Adopting info

Ready to Adopt?  Here's what you should bring with you:

• Please bring a government issued ID and proof of address if your current address is not on your ID.
• Carriers will be available for purchase but you may bring one if you like.
• Leashes, harnesses and collars will be available for purchase but you may bring them if you like.
• All adoption fees must be paid by cash or credit card.
• You don’t need to bring every family member but make sure to discuss having a new pet with everyone playing a role in his/her care.
• You will fill out an adoption application and meet with an adoption counselor to help ensure a good match.
• Be prepared to enjoy our activities while you wait to meet the animals that are available for adoption.  Anyone interested in adopting a new pet will be given a number and will be helped in order that they arrive.

Adoption prices

All prices below reflect the special rate of 75% of normal adoption fees.

$0 - cats
$185 - puppies and purebred breeds
$150 - mixed breeds
$110 - dogs over 7 years of age
$110 - pitbulls

Meet Ivanhoe and Ida Lou!

Ivanhoe and Ida Lou are practicing their cute puppy look in preparation for this weekend's 75th anniversary adopt-a-thon at Friendship Hospital for Animals.

Kittens!

Dogs aren't the only League animals that will be heading to the Friendship Hospital for Animals 75th Anniversary Adopt-a-thon this weekend. Cute kittens like this one will also be there looking for loving homes. And adoption fees on all cats are being waived! So stop by between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday or Sunday and meet your new furry feline friend.
